CHRIS HOSTY

Head of Design

Chris joined CERT in 2021 after six years running his own architecture practice, Elevate Architects. He worked with CERT on their first residential projects and has delivered circa 300 residential units since 2016. Prior to working with CERT, Chris had short stints at AHR Architects and JM Architects in Manchester, between 2013 and 2015, working on large scale educational, commercial and residential projects.

After graduating from Liverpool School of Art, where his training included numerous modules on low carbon and sustainable design, he spent three years at Lewandowski Architects in Windsor working mostly on bespoke private housing. Lewandowski Architects had an in-house sustainability consultancy (SEED) and where he gained an excellent grounding in real- world sustainable principles: working on a house in central London constructed to Code for Sustainable Homes level 5 (one level below zero-carbon in use).

Chris’s role is now the formation and management of design teams with the aim of delivering on CERT’s Design Ethos.
